Cross Cultural management skills is one of the most discussed thing in the business schools these days. Its requirement stemmed from the fact that the humans comes from different background with different cultural background. Cultural backgrounds vary across the globe. Set of norms acceptable in one culture may be considered an offense in the other. Even if the practices are common, they would bear different meanings. The cross-Cultural management kicks in when an individual from a cultural background interact or deals with people of different cultures.

The global managers assume the role of cross cultural managers. However, they are viewed as “outsiders” to a new culture and environment. For successful management, they need to adapt to the norms and understand the local cultural backgrounds and their understanding. The informal relations between the managers to people of different cultural backgrounds also hold importance. It influences the manager's role over his sub ordinates. With the growing trend of globalization, the need for developing the cross cultural management skills have grown considerably.

It is now being taught as part of the International business studies. However, the debate is still on whether to incorporate these studies either as culture general for all or specific to any single culture. With a pool of professionals from across the globe, the language still remains the biggest barrier. This poses as one of the biggest challenge and hurdle in the cross cultural management.

To meet the challenges of the ever changing global trends, various business schools have geared up to tackle with the cross cultural hurdles, which exploring new innovative ways to bridge the culture gap. The steps include distance learning programs and instilling in the leadership qualities to meet the demands of the ever changing global needs. In future, the cross cultural management wills for sure, make most of business studies content.
